From this, the Greek historian Xenophon derived the term tactica, the art of drawing up soldiers in array. Likewise, the Tactica, an early 10th-century handbook said to have been written under the supervision of the Byzantine emperor Leo VI the Wise, dealt with formations as well as weapons and the ways of fighting with them.

You’ll also be able to have an earlier scan if you’ve had recurrent miscarriages NICE How accurate are dating scans?
A dating scan is the best way to predict your due date PHE The point of the scan is to work out how many weeks pregnant you are. You may have calculated the length of your pregnancy from the first day of your last menstrual period LMP. However, conception doesn’t actually occur until around 14 days after your LMP, or later if your cycle is longer than 28 days Mongelli You may know when your LMP was, but not when you actually conceived.
If you do know the conception date, this is counted as day 14, not day one. If your cycle is irregular or you’ve recently been on the pill, working out the date from your LMP probably won’t work.
Ultrasound Reference Chart Based on IVF Dates to Estimate Gestational Age at 6–9 weeks’ Gestation

Are there any disadvantages to having an ultrasound scan? Having a scan in the first few weeks of pregnancy can be a thrilling experience. It’s wonderful to see a little blob with a heartbeat that will become your baby. But scans can also lift the lid on a few worries you might be having. What if they can’t see the heartbeat? That was very exciting but I just had a few questions about that Is the 13w dating based on the measurements and development of the baby? Or is this indicating that the date of conception was actually earlier than what I first thought?
Based on my calculations, 12 weeks pregnant was accurate since my LMP was actually 12 weeks ago, and I used an ovulation test while TTC, to time intercourse, and I pretty much could pinpoint what day I most likely conceived. Now the 13 week dating throws that all off and we would have conceived on a day where I was not ovulating.
I know that this really doesn’t make a difference in my pregnancy and the baby and I probably won’t get a concrete answer anyhow. But I am such a calculated person and shedding some light on how a dating ultrasound works would be super! Anyone out there had the same experience? We conceived using IVF so are able to pinpoint the conception date. Babies grow at their own pace. Some weeks they grow faster than others.
With my first pregnancy my due date continually got moved up because of the rate he was growing.
